Commanders Corner:
My Thanks and ‘Well Done’ to all that made the Golf Tournament a Success. The ‘Turkey Hunting Bonanza’ drawing will be July 3rd. Get your tickets sold as soon as you possibly can. More to follow on the festivities being planned. The election of officers for next year is scheduled on May 18th general membership meeting. Self nominations can be made at the post home on the sign in sheet.. Nominations can be made from the floor at the meeting also. Come out and support your favorite candidate to guide the Post’s business for the next year. Cecil Holloway, Commander
Ladies:
Auxiliary election of officers for 2009-2010 will be held on May 18th, please come out and vote for your officers. May 30th will be the Auxiliary yard sale. Spaces and tables will be rented for $5.00 each. Breakfast and lunch will be available to buy. We will have an Auxiliary table if you have something to donate to it. Is has been a great year for the Auxiliary, but we are hoping for better next year. We are having more days a month with our veterans from GA. War Veterans Nursing Home and the VA hospitals. We would like more participation from members. Remember what we are about.
Juniors and “Little Sons” Pizza and school out party on June 6th at 2 PM. Please bring your drink tabs and a box of zip lock bags if you can for Ronald Macdonald House. Bring a write up of everything you have been involved with in the com- munity and schools, boy scouts, girl scouts, tee ball, soccer, baseball or any other sports. The awards program will be August 8th at 2 PM at the Post. It has been a hard year getting the meetings in but next year will br better. Miriam Stein, Aux. President
Sons Of The American Legion GREETING: Sons and all our Legion Family; Summer is rapidly approaching and we will all be busy. That being said, the Sons will be electing our slate of officers on May 4th at 7 PM. Please attend this meeting to voice your vote, and for that matter every meeting on the first Monday of each month. We are a very strong squadron and strength come from numbers. American Legion Riders The Riders are doing great. We continue to support many veteran’s programs to include the PGR and “Homes for Troops”. A big Thank You to all for the help you gave in support of the Speegle Family. You gave a veteran the ability to visit with his wife and daughter during his stay in the downtown VA.
